I feel the quality of our lives will play an important factor in obesity because obesity is one of the largest causes of death besides cancer and heart disease. Just knowing this can be very scary, but this is why it is so important to be educated on this topic. Education is important because of what risks are involved. “Children are being diagnosed with adult onset diabetes, also known as type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the more common type of diabetes in which fat cells resist insulin therefore know as noninsulin-depentdent” (Rolfes,Whitney,2002). Young adults are shortening their lives each day by not being treated and the numbers of this illness are rising each day.
Treatment plans are going to be discussed in this section because there are many different ways to treat each individual. Each treatment will depend on your finances and what is right for you. Treatments can be very expensive and teaching individuals the costs of what is involved can also play a factor in how you can be treated and what you can be treated with. Some individuals already know this and they take it upon themselves to do what is affordable for them. They may not make the best decision by doing this because it can effect their health and hurt them in a wrong way. Over the counter medications are the perfect example because we hear and see this via television, radio and word of mouth. I know I do this is how I got started on my road to coping.
