and so I began my search.
It started with my discovery of intelligence tests that were conducted on the boys when they were little. The end results were exactly the same, yet Drew only scored average in the writing and reading sections while Colin scored in the hundreds. How could this be possible for them to attain the same extremely well scores while one of them clearly preformed poorly? Was I missing something and did the mirror image theory have anything to do with this newfound discovery? It seemed so. And it was that missing link that opened a whole new window and, with it, a whole new set of questions. I am finally off on my search to find out the answer to this plaguing controversy: are twins' personalities genetically determined?
One of the only ways to resolve if the personalities of twins are pre-determined is through the scrutiny of their actions both mental and physical. It is necessary, on this path to discovery, to pick apart and study each aspect of their character so that we can better understand the similarities between their beings. Although the evidence in support of predetermination is abundant, the controversy will never completely settle on either end of the spectrum. Therefore, I am lead to say that twins' personalities are indeed somewhat genetically pre-determined. The first step that most professionals take is to jump straight into intelligence investigation. Before we begin to use intelligence to prove anything it is necessary to understand what it is and how it can be used to show evidence towards genetically predetermined personalities. Thousands of works have been published after years and years of testing twins and these trends in statistics are the basis of the nature vs. nurture conflict. These studies don’t solely help to unravel the twin mystery but have given headway in proving some major health issues as well.
