There is nothing outside of man which imposes on him any necessity of sinning or prevents his turning sin to holiness. Man does evil because he simply chooses to do so; the only immediate and direct cause of his doing evil is that he wants to do it. “Therefore since man is a responsible creature who, without any external power forcing him to act contrary to his desires, freely rejects the good and choose the evil, he must be held accountable for his criminal conduct.” Arthur Pink has a strong view of God’s just character towards our sinful nature.
