at’s Subway’s whole intention—with the upbeat, happy atmospheres present in all the commercials and their settings, the receivers’ minds are put in a different thought process rather than Subway came out and presented facts in a more straightforward manner. Being somewhat of a skeptic myself, I tend to criticize the commercials and their motives and intentions rather than be persuaded by them. On the other hand, most of the other members of my family and circle of friends has been what I call “sucked in” by these ads in that when they come on, they just sit there and watch without realizing that it is impossible to lose a hundred pounds just by eating a pure Subway sandwich diet and doing nothing else in that same effort. In fact, there have been times when others in my own family have verbally praised Jared (whom, remember, they do not know personally) for having been so committed to his goal and having accomplished it.
