President Bush's reason was that Iraq had threatened the United States with their " weapons of mass distuction." Also, he has stated that Iraq did not follow through with their oil agreement. When President Bush declared war on Iraq, many countries did not support his justification. France tried to interfere as the United States targeted Iraq. Also France tried to convince Turkey to not support the U.S.
President Bush has also confirmed that “the United States main objective is to hold on to as many soldiers as we possibly can.”3 For those who would oppose the Bush adminastration for the cost providing security within our borders ,we would ask how much is too much too spend to ensure the safety of Americans?4
In November 2003 Congress approved of a $29.4 billion spending bill for homeland security, which included the funds for Iraq. 4 This bill was consider because it would help the nation in the future to fight against terrorist attacks. Also, the Bush Adminastration has pointed out that the cost of reconstruction of Iraq will be about $421 billion dollars. This means that a lot of money will be taken out of the citizens of American's taxes. The reconstructions efforts are meant to restore such essential services as water, electricity and other common resources to help the economy.
There are many reasons that U.S citizens might disagree with spending four billion per month on Iraq. Many believe that this amount of money will not help bring change in Iraq. According to more half the population believes that the U.S brought more hate to than Iraqi people than change.
