	Introduction
	Cricket is a team sport that is played in many countries as well as in our city-country of Singapore. However it is not as popular as other sports such as Football. One of the main promoters of this game in our country is the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC). The SCC was founded in the year 1852. Its membership was limited to the British elite, and the native Singaporean was not exposed to the game, and neither was he interested in a game alien to him. Despite its long presence in Singapore, cricket not become popular here, unlike in certain other British colonies in Asia such as India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 
	In early times, the game was seen as a British game. With the end of the British regime, it lost its appeal and shine, and there was a long period of lull in the activities relating to cricket in our country. However, in keeping with the present trend of the increasing popularity of the game worldwide, it has received a fillip in the past three decades or so. 
	The Singapore Cricket Association, another organisation that is actively involved in promoting the game in Singapore, was formally elected as an associate member of the International Cricket Conference on 23rd July, 1974, ...
