Of course with positive impacts, negative impacts come along with tourism as well. This is why governments work hard to provide tourism to be managed and monitored to help the cultural, environmental, and social problems that can occur to help continue to make tourism and tourism trends to develop marketing strategies and goals to provide the best possible experience for the tourists and the host communities. All of theses affects can be reasons as to why people may or may not travel to specific countries can either generate much revenue or can be hurt by the turn in people not visiting there country.
The travel and tourism industry was one of the most affected industries after the events of September 11th. The decline in travel to and within America caused over 200,000 people in the travel and tourism industry to either be laid off or their work hours were greatly reduced during the weeks and months following the terrorist attacks. One year after the attacks, 15% of workers in the industry were still unemployed and workers who were still employed were still working reduced hours. The economic downfall went pass the tourism industry and 41 states in the U.S. are now currently experiencing major budget shortages because of the huge decline in travel and tourism tax receipts. Although the industry has begun to recover, the rate of recovery is extremely uneven. For example Leisure travel has begun to recover where as business travel still continues to be behind. There are different reasons for the uneven recovery in the industry, for example international conflicts still remain and overall fear of travel associated mainly with air travel today....
