u are free to choose how you want to react to certain
situations in life. Proactive people are not easily offended, take responsibility for their
choices, think before they act, bounce back when something bad happens and always
find a way to make things happen. They also focus on the things that they can do
something about and do not worry about things that they cannot. The fact is, we
cannot control everything that happens to us in life, but the one thing that we can control
is how we respond to what happens to us.
Habit two is to begin with the end in mind. Beginning with the end in mind is the
habit of keeping your day-to-day focus on your whole life instead of on day to day
things. If we paint a visual image of what we want our life to be then we actually provide
a frame of reference within which all our behaviors can be examined. We must
understand where we are going. We should develop a personal mission statement. It
will provide the basic direction of our lives. This statement will force us to give thought to
our values and what we want to accomplish in life. The idea is that you try to live as the
sort of person you would like to be remembered for when you've passed on. This is a
project that you create, write, and rewrite over and over until it describes the person you
most want to be. Then you simply spend the rest of your life living those beliefs until you
become that person. It is probably the easiest, yet most difficult thing you will ever do in
