with the student’s family and find out about his home life. The faculty needs to be more involved in student’s life so they (the faculty) know more about each student and what they may be capable of. Programs for drug or alcohol abuse could be set up as an after school support group. These types of programs will soon begin to show their effects, as teen violence will drop. One of the simplest ideas that can be used is just talking to students. In the hallway or cafeteria is a perfect place for a faculty member to approach a student and talk about last night’s big game or what they might be doing this weekend. With this, students may gain some respect for the teachers and will be less apt to cause trouble.
Purpose
Our group has decided on the topic of school safety to present to our attendees. We believe that drastic measures in the American public school system will not stop violence in school.
