Fresh Fears over Cell Phones

Last summer a neurosurgeon in Sweden named Leif Slaford released data showing how drastically the brain is affected by cell phone exposure.
Hundreds of studies in the last decade on cell phone exposure proved for the most part unsuccessful. Most only proving that cell phone use may be linked to headaches and slight memory loss. None had ever been able to prove a connection between long term brain damage and cell phone use, until now.
Dr Salford and his team exposed 32 rats to microwave radiation form a common cell phone at different intensities for two hours. Fifty days later he examined the rat brains. He discovered that all of the rat brains seemed to have significant blood vessel leakage along with areas of shrunken neurons. The rats exposed to higher radiation had even more damage. Dr. Slaford is worried that if the human brain is affected in the same way that a rat’s is then cell phones could cause serious long term brain damage. HE also urges cell phone users to invest in hands free headsets.
This was a very interesting and slightly scary article. If you think about it just about every American uses a cell phone. If the cell phone companies do not do something to fix the problem soon it could be very bad.
The part I found most interesting about this article was how much the rats brains were damaged after only just two hours of exposure. It also had some great before and after pictures that really helped to convey the data....
