While the boys were growing up, they were always tinkering with things. Though they were excellent students and liked to read and write, the brothers could not stand still for very long. They always wanted to get to work and to invent, design, and build new things. The Wright Brothers were also very determined to do things. Orville always liked to built kites and sold them to classmates. An interest in the printing industry soon led Orville to drop out of school in 1889.
