CHEMICAL PLANTS BECOME FOCUS OF SAFETY CONCERN
Before September eleventh, an out of town pilot named “Mo” boards an airplane and during his flight starts asking a lot of questions. He was mainly interested in a chemical plant that they had just flown over. “What kind of chemicals are stored in those large tanks?” Danny, the man he was asking told him the tanks were actually empty. Danny, thinking something was fishy, knew the tanks were filled with sulfur dioxide!
Sulfur dioxide is a toxic chemical, if you came in contact with it, it can be fatal. This colorless liquid or gas can cause major health hazards. Anywhere from an allergic reaction to severe skin burns or even respiratory failure.
This article, which was published in the News Tribune, goes on to tell where several other chemical plants are located and what’s in them. This freedom of speech thing has gone way too far. Why don’t we just give terrorists an eight-digit grid coordinate while we’re at it. To make us feel better, these chemical plants are doing lengthier background investigations as to whom they will hire. They are also increasing security around the perimeters. Doesn’t that make you feel safe? Increasing security around these plants does not stop an airplane, it just adds to the death pool. Doesn’t that make you feel better?
