With the amount of shortages for priests these days allowing women in may not be a bad idea and that is one reason the church considers ordaining women. It is a very difficult situation to attack or defend because there is no definite answer for it. Now here are the supporters. Their main and strongest argument is saying that there is a shortage of priests. The statistics do show a drop in clergy over the past few years and by ordaining women the numbers are believed to go up. They believe ordaining women would be a good move in the direction of ecumenical unity. The supporters see this as a plus but what about the church? No one really understands why he or she wouldn’t attempt to try and improve clergy members.
