Kingsbury divides the Gospel into 3 parts:

1. Who is Jesus? 1:1, 4:16

2. Ministry 4:17, 16:20

Here he begins to preach (the nature and effect of his Proclamation) . Jesus summons the Jews to his kingdom (4:18, 11:1) but their response is one of rejection (11:2, 12:50) with the result that Jesus turns from the Jews (13:1-35) and towards his disciples (13:36-53a).
