Emotional responses include taking an exam, unpaid bills, and worrying about your children (Charlesworth 20-21). People act differently when they are reacting to stressors. Sometimes, the behaviors are somewhat subtle. Strained facial expressions, shaky voice tremors or spasms, jumpiness, accident proneness, and difficulty sleeping are a few responses.
Academic stress is common for college students. The stress of every day life in college shows itself in different ways: The expectations of making an “A” in every course, the fear of doing poorly on tests and worrying about failing are things that occur. For many students, going to college is more than just attending classes and taking notes. They usually have a hard time understanding school guidelines and deciding what major they want to study. It is even harder for students to make up their minds on what major they should concentrate on. Choosing the right courses and making a schedule is another headache through which students have to go. It is also stressful to wake up in the morning and be on time for classes. In addition to academic stress, students often feel financial pressure.
