Some disease may alter with your state of mind, while others have strong psychological factors. Studies have shown that you first have an emotional experience then bodily expression follows. This is known as: stimulus (S) produces emotion (E) and leads to a response (PR), so basically if you are sad and you smile you will feel happier.
Psychosomatic disorders are classified by the organ system affected. There are ten groups of phychosomatic illness. An example is given for these illnesses, to give better understanding of how all of this works.
First, psychophysiologic skin reactions, including hair loss, hives, and acne. An example of this is eczema, or esse sive itching. Some people show no sign of allergy in skin tests but it has been noted that the skin is extremely responsive to the subjects state of mind. For instance, when afraid their skin felt cold, when embarrassed the subject blushed, etc. Dermatologists and psychiatrists believe that when no allergy is shown that psychotherapy will relive the person of thought and they will no longer get the urges to scratch and the skin disorder will vanish.
