The Ku Klux Klan is another important part of history selectively ignored; thus decades of lynichings, burnings, and rapes of African Americans. It was such atrocities which ushered in the 20th Century, a period now refered to as "The American Century”. It is upon this historical foundation which American society today rests, one where violence is an accepted factor- a foundation of which our youth are utilizing for survival.
