The culture of the developing nations is all based on passing down values and beliefs to younger family members from elder family members. The foundation of these structures is to give members of the family prescribed ways to act, and give everyone involved reasons explaining why things are the way they are, in an attempt to minimize internal conflict. Most cultures of this sort are opposed to, and possibly even fear change of any sort, so the best way to maintain the way of life that they have established is to inform others that the way things are happening are the way they are going to stay. Elders in the society lead by example and the younger follow that very example, thus creating another cycle that is a rigid belief among inhabitants of the area, making change even harder to come by.
