Pasto, Cali, Medellin are the cities that these products are produce in. Agriculture products that are coming out of Colombia coffe, cut flowers, rice, bananas, tobacco, corn, cocoa beans, forest products, and shrimp.
If a company wanted to start doing business Colombia there are some things they would want to keep in mind. Colombia has two coastlines one on the Pacific and the Atlantic this would help with shipping because they could set up shipping on both coastlines. Being able to ship merchandise in either direction would be a great asset any company. Another asset of doing business in Colombia is all of its natural resources. Colombia has several natural resources including coal, natural gas, and iron.
Some concerns one might have about starting to do business in Colombia is the volcanic eruptions and deforestation in the highlands. It would be better for a company not to build plants or buildings in the highlands, although much of the population in lives in these highlands. Water quality issue so any company that had to use water would
incur the expense of filtering water. There can also be problems with periodic droughts. These are just a few things companies will need to consider before entering the Colombian market.
