ence and that they have the potential to stay good during their lives. Most of us are set forth on the same path from birth, (yet I can’t speak for all) and we are expected to stay on it and evolve. It’s obvious to me that many people stray from the path, yet the reason why I believe that they do is not because they’re bad personally, but because of all the pressures that society has placed on them. If you’re born a crack baby and are neglected from the time of birth, how much of a chance do you really have? It’s not the kid’s fault what he turns out to be, but no matter, what I believe in is that there’s still a good person inside. He may be distanced more and more from the purity that he once was, but there will always be a good person underneath. All you have to do is scrape away the dirt and unearth it.
As for the equality of man, I completely believe it. I believe that all men are created as equals and that in society they have an equal chance. Sure, the strength, intelligence or resourcefulness of people may vary, but they all balance out. If this country were thrown into a state of anarchy tomorrow, who would survive? The simple answer is, probably the fittest and most adapted. The strong would rely on their strength as a defense, the intellects on their cunning. The people that lack both of these qualities make up for it some other way that is just as useful. People are equal and in my mind they should have equal representation and should be treated as equals in every aspect of society.
As a society evolves with new technologies, social issues, and political leaders, it’s almost inevitable that some changes must occur.
