Looking at the way men act, when a man is overcome by his bodily pleasures, he is considered to be vicious. However, when the man is overcome by reason he is considered to be virtuous. Therefore, it would only make sense that the man who is ruled by his soul, which is the reason, would be the one to rule over the man who is ruled by his body. It would be vicious if it were the other way around. Thus, some men are naturally meant to be masters, while others are naturally meant to be slaves. Each man is happy because they are both getting what they need out of the relationship. The master is getting his manual labor done for him, while the slave is getting his decisions made for him.
