Politics: Plato vs. Aristotle

First of all, to compare the two it will be a little long. Plato and Aristotle were both interested in politics. Plato was considered the first writer on political philosophy. Aristotle is considered the first political scientist. Both had ideas to improve the existing societies that they lived in.
Plato’s philosophy was focused on a utopia society. Plato thought that if societies problems were settled and put to ease there would be an utopia society. Aristotle focused on not a perfect society but rather improving the society. Aristotle thought that society didn’t need a drastic reformation. Instead a perfect society, which he thought could not happen, instead he wanted to only improve the existing society.
Plato’s utopia society consisted of three class systems. They were the working, the military, and the rulers. Each class had it’s own virtues. The working class were moderate and temperance. Military class were courage and spiritual. The ruling class were wisdom and intelligence. Aristotle disagreed with Plato’s social class system. He thought it excluded those who were ambitious and could hold positions in an upper class structure of Plato’s. Just because they weren’t born in a ruling class doesn’t mean they can’t hold higher positions in society. He thinks that Plato’s structure took away from the rulers being happy. Both Plato and Aristotle agree that justice that it dictates how a good life should be lived, no matter what the social status is.
Aristotle and Plato both had great ideas on improving society. Plato was concerned with the political truth while Aristotle was more concerned with the citizens. Both philosophers had great philosophies on creating a better society for their time and for societies of the future....
