Bud introduced him to playing in a band. When Bud heard Brad play his guitar and sing, he knew he had something special. When Bud introduced Brad to fellow musician Eric Wilson they clicked. The three of them together were a good match. They started a band and called themselves “Sublime”. However, the problem was that Brad was still committed to school and they had to schedule around his classes. Brad would not leave school for anything. His band members told him to cut back at school and concentrate on the band. His band was secondary until they started to get big. Their gigs started to be sold out and their songs were on rotation on the local radio stations. When he saw that there was some serious money to be made, he quit school to concentrate the band.
