vaccination was first released. I will provide the reader with a background to Edward Jenner and how the vaccine came into existence. Focus will then switch from England to France. I have chosen France because of its physical proximity to England and the historical connection that these two countries share. We will then be leaving France to examine reactions in Lower Canada, because Canada has an affinity to France that cannot be denied. After all, it started as a French colony and French is still spoken as a first language in many parts of the country. Then we will examine an isolated case in Puerto Rico. I feel that this case, because of its remoteness will help my argument by proving that even responses in remote isolated places were driven by the same motives that we find in the larger cases.
