Abortion
In the society we live in, we face a lot of controversial issues everyday. The one that stands out to me the most is abortion. Abortion has been made legal in this country and I think that is the worst mistake that America ever made. Abortion is not only murder and morally wrong but it also has the possibility of having harmful effects. It has sometimes has lasting physical effects and most times it has lasting psychological. I personally think that if most women were made aware of all he negative effects that could possibly happen, I don’t think that as many people would do it.
The first issue that I want to address is murder. In any other instance, if one would ask someone if murder is wrong more likely than not they would say yes. Then why is it that people question murder as far as abortion is concerned. Birth starts conception. Murder at any stage in life is wrong and should be punished.
Abortion affects different people differently. Some people may find it easy to get over. Others may have to overcome the grief, pain and guilt that comes along with it. Temporary feelings of relief that are gained abortion are usually followed by a period of emotional paralysis," or post-abortion "numbness." Their focus is primarily on having survived the ordeal, and they are at least temporarily out of touch with their feelings.
Within 8 weeks after their abortions, 55% expressed guilt, 44% complained of nervous disorders, 36% had experienced sleep disturbances, 31% had regrets about their decision, and 11% had been prescribed psychotropic medicine by their family doctor. In one study of 500 aborted women, researchers found that 50 percent expressed negative feelings, and up to 10 percent were classified as having developed "serious psychiatric complications." I think that If most women who have had abortions had this information, they may have made a differently.
Abortion can also leave lasting physical affects on the body...
