The word copyright refers to the legal rights given to the creators of original literary and artistic works. Literary works include works such as novels, poems, newspapers films, and computer programs, while artistic works are those as musical compositions, drawings, sculpture or architectural design. A copyright gives the original creators of works an exclusive right to use or authorize others to use the work; it’s a right to copy and control copying. Thus, it’s a protection against any unauthorized copying of his works. Copyrights, however, extends to expressions only. It doesn’t protect the idea, but protects the way in which the idea was expressed.
