Was the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima the “right” one? I believe the decision of the U.S to drop the atomic bomb was valid. Remember, this historical event was a world war. No matter what the laws and rule state, a war, is a war. Charles Darwin called it “survival of the fittest”. Like the saying goes “If you can’t handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.”
First of all, we must also ask the question, why did the U.S. drop the atomic bomb? On December 7, 1941, Japanese planes prepared a secret attack and bombed the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands, destroying the majority of U.S. warships. Soon after, the Japs bombed Hong Kong, Singapore and invaded Thailand, Philippine Islands and Malaya. The U.S. began to sense the domination of the Japanese conquest of Southeast Asia and the Dutch East Indies.
Secondly, Germany began to successfully conquer Europe, half of Europe Russia and Northern Africa. Combined with Japan, the two allies dominated and conquered nearly one-third of the world. Nevertheless, the more Germany and Japan occupied more land, the smaller and weaker their forces became. At this point, the U.S., Canada and British joined forces and began to counter attack.
The counter attack was successful. Hitler commits suicide and on May 7, 1945, Germany surrenders. August 6, 1945, U.S. drops atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Finally, August 14, 1945, Japan Emperor Hiro*censored*o gave the order to surrender.
To conclude, I felt the U.S. did what they had to. Germany and Japan began to dominate the nineteenth century in a demonic fashion. Therefore, the U.S. made an example out of Japan to show Germany, they could be next....
