Well, now it’s possible, and all you have to do is risk your whole life. All you have to do is take a simple drug and wait for the results. You might be thinking, “Wow! This is too good to be true. It sounds so easy!” And as a matter of fact, you are exactly right. Taking steroids is too good to be true. There are many effects from using them and most of them are negative.
Steroids are a group of powerful compounds that are related chemically to testosterone, the male sex hormone. Anabolic-androgenic steroids are man-made substances related to the male sex hormones. “Anabolic” refers to muscle-building, and “androgenic” refers to increased masculine characteristics. “Steroids” refers to the class of drugs. They were developed in the 1930’s originally to build tissue and to prevent its breakdown in some debilitating diseases. They are also used to help men whose bodies cant produce enough of the natural hormones that is needed for proper development of body hair, lower voices, or other masculine characteristics that occur at puberty. Anabolic steroids were also used to treat wasting away in patients who have AIDS.
Today, people, mostly men, take steroids to build up their body muscle at a rapid rate and with little effort. Taken in combination with a program of muscle-building exercise and diet, steroids tend to increase body weight and muscular strength. Anabolic steroids are taken orally or injected, typically in cycles of weeks or months, rather than continuously. Besides serious physical and mental problems, steroids can cost $50-$600 a month.
