How To Wash Your Hands
Everyday germs are spread; people don’t know how to wash their hands properly. Everyday hands are wash with a hit and miss job, and germs are spread. I use to be a victim of the hand washing procedure, until I went into nursing. When you look under a fluorescent light you saw all the germs you “thought” was not their. Even with anti bacterial soap it didn’t get all the germs. I am informing you on how to wash hands properly to stop spreading germs with seven steps instructions.
Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary defines hand washing as using soap and water, or alcohol based solutions to decrease the number of germs on the hands, a fundamental aspect of infection control (19: 922). It doesn’t matter if you use soap and water or alcohol based solution, but it has to be correct. I prefer soap and water myself; it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on hands’ surface. Make sure all jewelry are off before starting the hand washing. Also, make sure you have paper towels, plenty of soap, trash can nearby and warm to hot water.
The first step is to turn on the facet to a very warm to hot water. The second step is to rinse hands to give moisture to the hands making the soap not so rough. The third step is to add a dime to a quarter size amount of soap in your palms. The fourth step is to rub your hands together; make sure the fingers are pointing downwards. Don’t forget to get underneath the nails, and make sure the hands don’t touch any part of the sink. The rubbing of the hands should last for at least 15 to 20 seconds long. Just say the ABC’s or Happy Birthday to yourself.
