The ways in which political parties infect administration with politics are as follows. When creating a democratic system primarily the American Government there are certain civil liberties and rights protected by the constitution in which someway encourage factions. Rights such as the freedom to assembly and the freedom of speech are kind of a gateway to the formation of political parties. “Liberty is to faction what air is to fire, an aliment without which it instantly expires.”(Madison78) In making note of this it would be impossible to control people to have the same passions and desires in life, or to remove our freedom and rights. In taking away our freedoms political parties would not survive, but neither would a systematic democracy. In light of not being able to control the causes of factions Madison argues that thing to look at is controlling the effects. “The inference to which we are brought is that the causes of faction cannot be removed and that relief is o!
nly to be sought in the means of controlling its effects.”(Madison 80)
Effects of factions can be seen in the divide in people, in most cases into a majority and minorities. “When a majority is included in a faction, the form of popular government, on the other hand, enables it to sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens.
