They are police governments- police state governments” Such claims may be true, but the United States should have respected the diversity of politics. This competitive rivalry only furthered the resentment towards one another and increased the tension between the two. Then in 1949, America, Canada, and ten other European allies joined together to form N.A.T.O, which was created to end the Communistic takeover of the Soviet Union. The main principal of N.A.T.O was that if the Soviet Union were to attack any one of the joined allies then it would be considered an attack on all of them.
