Television History and Future
There are many inventions of communication, that have influenced people
through the years. There are inventions that produce information for society, but none
captures the past or present more vividly then television. As in VHS, DVD, and T.V. all
together. The television has been around for many years & has contributed to many
different things in history. The television has evolved since it’s development years and
years ago. People use the television for many things from pleasure to just watching the
daily news. Televisions are one thing that will always be around and develop into
something more advanced in the years there’s no slowing down.
Television was not invented by one single inventor. Instead many of people
working together & by themselves, contributed to the evolution of T.V.. It all started in
1831 when Joesph Henry’s & Michael Faradays came up with electromagnetism to make
electronic communication possible. Then in 1862 Abbe Gloranna Caselli invents the
“Pantelegraph” and becomes the 1rst person to transmit a still image over wires. In 1873
some rather intelligent scientist May & Smith experimented with Selenium & light, so
now inventors can transform images into electronic signals.
Over the years people experimented with “Cathode Rays” until; when in 1880
inventors like Bell & Edison theorize about a telephone device that transmits images as
well as sound. Bell’s new photophone used light to transmit sounds, which lead to the
idea of sending images through out this light. In 1887 Thomas Edison patents his motion
picture camera & attempts to record picture photos onto a wax cylinder.
