Jurassic Park Summary
The introduction starts of by telling about how technology has advanced to the point that it is part of everyday life. In particular Biotechnology will change all aspects of human life; like the medical care, food, health, and even entertainment. So, basically this book is about how John Hammond a millionaire invests money in a park, but this amusement park is like no other because of the dinosaurs. Any how, Hammond invites several people to the park so that they could see his creation: paleontologist Dr. Grant, paleobotanist Dr. Sattler, mathematician Ian Malcolm, and Hammond’s two grandchildren, Tim and Lex to the island to experience his future theme park.
How did Hammond manage to clone dinosaurs will through DNA found in insects that had been preserved in amber. Amber from the trees trapped the mosquitoes or insects inside which preserved them. However Hammond did not do it himself he had Henry Wu do it since he had the skills. They then sequenced the DNA to make a complete strand of DNA. But the DNA was old and had gaps, so the scientists spliced frog DNA with the Dino DNA so the DNA would be complete. The DNA was then inserted into crocodile ova and created an embryo. Seems as it would have work but it didn’t. Why did it no work? It did not work because apparently they only created female dinosaurs, but like some animals, especially African frogs, dinosaurs were able to change their sex according to Ellie and Alan. So, just like Malcolm said something unexpected is bound to happen, and no computer program can be designed to prevent it because they had created animals that were extinct. These animals lived in a different time the atmosphere was different with that everything else. “There is a problem with that isla...
