The Fox the Hounds and the Sacred Cows

“This isn’t the TV news business, this is the entertainment business.” As wrong and unethical as this sounds, the reading “The Fox the Hounds and the Sacred Cows” proved that exact fact. The entire passage showed the disgusting truth of Fox and how it is completely controlled and censored by one organization, Monsanto, and how in fact they are getting away with deciding what is news and what is not. By not letting the people be exposed to what is known and what could and perhaps is hurting us as a society is nothing but hurtful in the end.
Fox, as well as other news stations I’m sure, only presents that which is beneficial to them. Whether it be because of ratings, opposing views, or any kind of bad publicity, this is more than often the case, we see it repeating time and again in the documentary OUTFOXED and also the reading “The Fox the Hounds and the Sacred Cows”. Whatever is more appealing to the eye gets shown, whether it be newsworthy or not.
The fact that this all goes on is one thing, but the fact that it is done so bluntly and out in the open makes me wonder why it seems that nobody is doing anything about it. It’s a complete mind blower that people just sit back at let this all happen and don’t take necessary steps to make themselves heard. Although I’m sure that there are in fact people who do engage in this kind of righteous behavior, why nobody who has power or influence is picking up on this and making it known to the masses.
At points in reading I began to get so angry that I had to put the packet down and rant about it, I talked to my roommate and a bunch of friends and we were all amazed that such behavior could go on as if unnoticed by anyone else. If only there were a way to put an end to all of this, hopefully after time more and more people will realize that they have the wool over their eyes and will do something about the madness.
