strange noise, and Guy cracks a joke about hearing the crazy child-eating sisters. Guy and Rosemary move in and Rosemary immediately starts the redecorating of the home. She paints the walls white and chooses very trendy furniture. Guy is never home during the day. Rosemary is always alone in the apartment while he is at work. Soon she starts to show her loneliness and depression over being ignored by Guy. One day, while doing her laundry, she meets a young woman named Terry that lives with the elderly couple next door. Terry tells her how wonderful the Castevets are and how they saved her life. Terry was living on the streets and doing drugs when they offered to give her a place to stay. They hear a glass shatter and begin to talk about how the basement scares them. Terry shows Rosemary a charm Minnie Castevet gave her for good luck. It is a very beautiful charm, but has a bad odor. They agree to do the laundry together some other time. That night while Rosemary and Guy are getting ready for bed they hear very strange singing coming from the Castevets apartment.
One night while Guy and Rosemary are walking home they see a crowd of people in front of the building. They pushed to the center of the crowd and found Terry dead on the floor with blood everywhere.
