1. My Wife and Kids is a half hour comedy that comes on ABC Wednesday at 7pm.
This is a television show that is made up of all African American cast. The show main characters are a mother who is a housewife, a father who owns his own trucking company, and three kids. The show is one of few African American shows on a major network and it shows positive aspects of African Americans life. You have a hard working father and a mother that stays home and take care of the house and the children. Their kids go through the same problems that real teen-agers go through. Their family has problems but they always seem to sit down and talk through their problems. My wife and kids is a show where the children live with both their mother and father. This show provides a look into a typical family life you have your good days and you have some bad days but the parents are always there for their children. I think this show has a well-balanced dose of reality on television.

2. The Bernie Mac Show comes on Wednesday nights at 8pm on the Fox network. Bernie Mac is another African American based television comedy. The show is about a married couple that takes the man two nieces and nephew in to live with them when his sister goes to prison for drugs. The kids had a hard life before they came to live with their uncle because of their mother life style. With their uncle they have a better life; a big house, food to eat, clean clothing to wear. In the beginning both the uncle and the kids had to get use to each other. The kids were not use to having rules and the uncle was not use to making rules, and following them himself so the kids would have someone to look up to. In this show the kids are not living with either of their biological parents, they are with their uncle and his wife. Although it was rough in the first season you see how the writers are having the characters adjust to each other and really get along now...
