CopyCat/Serial Murders

There were several movies that could have been viewed and related with
the chapter read in the text; however, I decided on the movie called ‘Copycat.’ I didn’t
previously see the movie before deciding to do my paper on it so it was brand new and
added to the thrill of the movie.
The beginning of the moving leads the viewer to believe that a Serial
Murder is on the loose and brings the audience along with the search for the killer. As in
any typical murder case or cases detectives are placed on the scene to solve the murders.
This movie proves not to be different in that respect when two bright detectives are place
on the case, Detective Jane and Goetz. The curveballs thrown into this movie are many;
however, the one that is really eye catching is that the person who is killing all of these
people are not just copying the murder of one former Serial Killer but of numerous. Dr.
Hudson, a renowned Serial Psychiatrist is brought onto the case by the detectives and
plays an enormous role in figuring out the pattern is which this murder is following to kill
his victims.
The Serial Killer in this movie, plays his role very well and brings the
audience along for the ride of his senseless killings. Dr. Hudson comes out of her “shell”
per say after putting herself into a panic attack mode after her attacker, Darryl Lee
Cullum assaults her one year prior and kills her security cop. After this incident takes
plays Dr. Hudson lives a life of fear and is constantly wondering when her attacker will
return to kill her. She doesn’t leave her apartment and until the detectives working on the
Serial Murder case requests her assistance she rarely spoke with anyone on the outside
world, except through her computer....
