only pretty women could pass his “elevator test.” He said if he wouldn’t mind being stuck in an elevator with a girl, she was pretty. And everyone that didn’t fit under that category, he would insinuate that they were cows by playing a “mooing” sound. He also made fun of African-Americans and their “Ebonics.” The video clip starts out with a husband and wife eating breakfast. The husband is listening to Bostic’s radio show and the wife is asking him to turn it off because she’s disgusted with the way he talks about women. The husband responds by telling her that Bostic is right in what he says and that he isn’t turning it off. The scene changes and it shows th!
e husband at a diner with a few of his friends who are also listening to the radio show. The owner of the diner is talking to the security guard, when the guys start cracking jokes about African-Americans. The security guard and the owner, who are African-American, are offended, but the owner decides that the guys are just having an off day because he’s served them before and they didn’t normally act that way. As the guys at the table persist on making jokes, the security guard decides he’s had enough and storms to the men’s table and tells them to get out. After a brief argument a shot is fired and an innocent women is killed. The whole point of the clip was that what you say, whether you feel it’s a joke or not, does effect other people, and if you’re not careful it made lead to devastating consequences. The husband and wife in the scenario had two different viewpoints on whether or not Bostic had a right to say what he wanted, when he wanted. The husband felt Bostic had a right to what he believed in. The wife agreed with the fact that a person does have the right to free speech, but that doesn’t mean they have a right to spread hate because there are people listening, maybe even kids, that have impressionable minds, an...
