A couple days before they made the decision I was talking with the family, one of the family, and asked how they perceived the decision they were faced with, because I thought if it were me I would just keep waiting for a miracle. But the family told me that they knew the father well enough that he would not want to live as a vegetable anyways and it was to stressful to have to be worrying about him all the time. Another reason was the money, it would cost a lot of money to keep him on life support, and if it wasn’t for a hopeful reason then it was basically pointless. I honestly don’t know how I would handle the situation if it were me, but I do know that I could never judge someone or hold them in a bad light for making a decision like this.
