1. Marriage, from an economic perspective can benefit both parties involved. Statistically, 90% of adults are married at some point during their lives. With that said, it can be assumed that people think of marriage as being beneficial to their economic outlook on life. When people get married this changes family structure, and when that happens there is a dominate change in the labor market, especially income dynamics. Since marriage involves choice aimed at improving well-being, then it can be assumed that people’s perception of improved well-being is a better financial future.
Getting married means having a family, and having a family means making choices. In everyday life families make choices about production and allocation of resources, investments, consumption and savings, and leisure activities. All of these help in the benefits of marriage, because most, if not all of these choices require at least both parties to make decisions. In doing so, both parties help in the decision process on what will be beneficial the most. By this I mean what decision about a choice or choices will benefit both parties. The choice or choices made would hopefully maximize goals.
Specialization is huge when talking about benefits to marriage. It is well known and well documented throughout history that women get married to increase their identity, and to better their occupation. With this still somewhat relevant today, it makes perfect sense to say that women, for the most part, get married to make themselves better known wile at the same time increasing their job chances. However, these increased job chances might not always come in the form of market jobs. What I mean by this is that in many cases its better for the women to stay outside the market and inside the home wile the husband goes to work inside the market place.
