The reason he believes that is some women make themselves into objects, by exploiting themselves in magazines, beauty pageants, and television. As Sanders matures and grows as a person he comes to realize that artists draw women not because they view them as sexual objects, but because they view women as human beings, drawn in celebration of their beauty (260). Sanders believes that men turn women into objects out of fear and ignorance. What men do not know, they fear.
After years of life experience Sanders finds an answer to the question of how men should perceive women. He realizes that men should view women, not as sex objects, but as human beings. As long as men have eyes, they will always look at women to admire their beauty or to look at them as objects. Sanders believes that men have to struggle to see women with respect and love. He ends his essay by stating that the next time he will see a beautiful woman on the street, he will look at her beauty with splendor and respect.
