Scott of the New York Times critiqued that "The apparent premise, creaky though it may be, holds ample opportunity for suspense and second-guessing, and Mr. Mangold handles the revelations and reversals of Michael Cooney's script with nerve-racking aplomb." I agree with this, as the sense of horror is heightened since we understand that’s the cast is trapped in this hotel in the middle of nowhere. The cast in this film, consisting of a limo driver, an actress, a newly wed couple, a prostitute, a convict, a policeman, a hotel owner, a child and his parents, begins to decimate one by one by the hands of an unseen killer. Throughout the film we witness there are odd connections between all of the living characters as well as the dead characters.
