Another person in the Borden household at the time was the family maid, Bridget “Maggie” Sullivan. She was another suspect in the murders although after the first set of interviews police saw no reason to question her further. They believe her to be incompetent of committing such an act. She was an Irish immigrant who had worked for the Bordens since 1889. She lived in the home with them on the third floor, which was basically the attic converted into a room for her. There are many theories about who Maggie really was, including one in the nature of her being an illegitimate child to Andrew Borden, but nothing has ever been proven.
The final suspect in the murders was John Vinnicum Morse. He just happened to be visiting at this time on business and was staying in the guestroom. He was related to the family through Borden’s first wife (her brother). There were many suspicions about him. When he first arrived th...
