d the editor until the end of his life. During his years as an editor, he was also a professor on the permanent staff of the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic from 1936 to 1961. Ponti’s position as an educator further permitted him to flood students, as well as the public with his ideologies and opinions.
In 1952 he became partners with the architects Alberto Rosselli and Antonio Fornaroli, which lasted until 1976. Within their twenty-four year partnership, both the firm and Milan experienced their most prominent work, the Pirelli Building (finished in 1956). The diamond/crystal shape design is one that will continuously resurface throughout Ponti’s career. After the death of Rosselli, Ponti continued to work with his long-time partner, Fornaroli until his (Ponti’s) death in Milan on September 16, 1979.
