Although Phillips is a republican many regard him and his political views as “liberal Republican” (Gale). Phillips is known as one of America’s very influential political analyst. Phillips has been involved in political arena since 1964 holding jobs as Administrative assistant of congressman, special assistant to campaign manager for “Nixon for president”, special assistant to U.S. Attorney General etc. Besides that he was also a Commentator on major news networks such as National Public Radio, CBS Radio Network, and CBS Television.
